States With Coalitions
Ohio
The mission of the Ohio Public Pension Coalition is simple: to ensure retirement security for Ohio’s teachers, firefighters, police officers, nurses, and other public servants who keep our communities safe and thriving.
Pension Security is Public Security
About Ohio’s Coalition
The Ohio Public Pension Coalition (OPPC) is a statewide alliance of public employees, retirees, labor organizations, and supporters committed to protecting and strengthening Ohio’s public pension systems. Our mission is to ensure retirement security for the teachers, firefighters, nurses, city workers, and countless others who dedicate their lives to serving Ohio’s communities. Our organization represents members of the Ohio Federation of Teachers (OFT), Ohio Education Association (OEA), Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE), Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio (FOP), Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters (OAPFF), AFSCME Council 8, and the Ohio AFL-CIO.
We believe every public worker deserves to retire with dignity, and we advocate for policies that uphold the promises made to them. As threats to defined benefit pensions grow, OPPC is here to educate, organize, and mobilize Ohioans to defend what’s rightfully theirs—a secure and reliable retirement. Public employees also deserve to know that Ohio’s pension systems are funded and managed responsibly, and OPPC is committed to holding system administrators and state lawmakers accountable for the health of our public-sector pension funds.
Whether you’re a public employee, retiree, or ally, OPPC welcomes you to join our movement. Together, we’re building a stronger future for those who serve
