Earlier this summer, the conservative editorial magazine National Review published a piece entitled Republicans Need to Promise Now: No State Pension Bailouts. This baseless accusation by right-wing, Wall Street-backed pension opponents is just a continuation of the “sky is falling” rhetoric we’ve seen again and again.

Kentucky Bus Driver Shortage Prompts Students to Respond in Song
Like many school districts across the country, Jefferson County Public Schools, which serves the greater Lousiville area, is experiencing an ongoing school bus driver shortage that has led to disruptions in service and altered routes, leaving some students without the critical transportation they need.
Response to the cuts, which leave roughly 14,000 students in the JCPS district without busing, led a group of parents to file a lawsuit claiming that the new transportation plan disproportionately affects vulnerable Black students in lower-income areas. And now, a group of students has replied–with a hip-hop song.
The Real Young Prodigys, a musical performance group comprised of JCPS students, released their video, “Where My Bus At?”, which currently has over 29K views on YouTube, as a warning to public officials–the future is paying attention. Parents and co-founders of the group, NyRee Clayton-Taylor and her husband Antonio Taylor, say the kids came up with the idea on their own. “Our students have been dealing with busing over the past year,” Clayton-Taylor said. “And a few months ago, they said they wanted to write this song about busing in our own way, and that’s what leads us here today — their song called ‘Where’s my bus at?’”
